Georgia wide receiver Cole Speer returns for fifth season

Cole Speer, a wide receiver and special teams standout, is reportedly returning to Georgia for a fifth season. Speer participated in practice on August 18, 2026, and is expected to go through the NCAA acclimation period. He gained an extra year of eligibility due to a Colorado District Court ruling. Speer recorded 5 catches for 56 yards and was notable for a blocked punt against Alabama in the SEC championship last season. While Georgia's coach Kirby Smart indicated a willingness to accommodate players if roster space allows, the program has yet to officially confirm Speer’s return to the roster.
