Georgio Poullas arrested for aggravated battery in Delray Beach

RAF wrestler Georgio Poullas was arrested on aggravated battery charges in Delray Beach, Fla. on June 6 after a party got out of control and fights breaking out between attendees. Online records show that Poullas was booked into custody at 3:55 a.m. on June 6 before being released on $1,500 bond. He was arrested on a felony aggravated battery charge and “intentionally or knowingly causes great bodily harm, permanent disability, or permanent disfigurement.” According to the police report, as first reported by the Boca Daily News, Poullas allegedly threw another person through a glass table at a bachelor party and the person suffered laceration injuries as a result. Police responded to the Airbnb where the party was happening and that’s where Poullas was arrested. Based on the probable cause affidavit, Poullas and his brother Nicholas were allegedly “berating” their sister, who was also the bride-to-be, at the event that was also serving as a bachelorette party. The groom and his brother apparently stepped in between the Poullas brothers after Nicholas allegedly pushed his sister and that’s when the altercation allegedly turned physical. The groom told police that he was hit in the face several times by Nicholas Poullas, and after falling to the ground, he said he was punched and kicked repeatedly. He described the situation as if he was being “curb stomped.” When the groom’s brother attempted to intervene, police said that Georgio grabbed him and “slammed him onto a glass coffee table.” Poullas allegedly continued hitting the groom’s brother and choked him as the fight continued. The victims were treated for their injuries, but police say after arriving, several people from the party fled the scene, including the Poullas brothers. That led to police using the K-9 unit and Georgio and Nicholas Poullas were allegedly found hiding in a bush at a nearby neighbor’s home. Georgio Poullas was arrested and taken into custody while his brother was hit with a lesser charge of simple battery. Poullas is due back in court on July 9. Poullas came to fame through appearances in RAF, including a pair of matches against top-ranked UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan. His last appearance in RAF came in his rematch with Tsarukyan back in March.
