Gianfranco Zola appointed youth co-ordinator for Italy national team

Gianfranco Zola has been officially named the youth co-ordinator for the Italy national team, as confirmed by FIGC President Giovanni Malagò. This appointment is part of an effort by the federation to revitalize the national program alongside new coach Roberto Mancini and technical director Claudio Ranieri. Zola, who has served as vice-president of Lega Pro since February 2023, will oversee youth activities including the development of players up to the Under-21 level. His role is expected to address the growing costs associated with youth academies, which have limited opportunities for aspiring athletes.
