Giants and Cowboys to hold 9/11 tribute before Sunday night game

The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys will host a series of tributes at MetLife Stadium this Sunday to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Ahead of the Sunday Night Football kickoff, scheduled for 8:20 p.m., the NFL will present several ceremonies including a moment of silence and a photo montage of victims. Players and coaches from both teams will unfurl a 100-yard American flag, and New Jersey State Police helicopters will conduct a flyover. The tribute includes a “Tribute in Light” display, and an honor guard representing the NYPD, FDNY, and PAPD will participate in the national anthem. Members of the Palumbo family will serve as honorary captains for the coin toss to honor the late head coach Jim Fassel. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the pre-game ceremonies.
