Giants plan to add veteran defensive lineman Dean Lowry to practice squad

The New York Giants intend to sign veteran defensive lineman Dean Lowry to their practice squad ahead of the team's Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. The addition provides the club with extra depth along the defensive front, as Lowry is eligible to be elevated to the active roster for gameday appearances. Lowry previously spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, and Green Bay Packers. He did not play during the 2025 season while recovering from a torn ACL and was subsequently released by Pittsburgh following training camp this summer. During his 2024 campaign in Pittsburgh, he recorded five tackles and one sack across 12 games. The Giants are currently integrating several new defensive linemen, including Shelby Harris, DJ Reader, C.J. Okoye, and Bobby Jamison-Travis, into their system for the new season.
