Giants prospect Jackson Flora begins Class-A assignment this week

San Francisco Giants top draft pick Jackson Flora is set to join Class-A San Jose for his first professional start this week. Flora recently participated in the Giants' Bridge League in Phoenix, where he recorded a scoreless inning with one strikeout. As a first-round selection, the UC Santa Barbara product is viewed by the organization as a quick-moving pitching prospect who may contend for a major league roster spot next season. Elsewhere in the organization, the Giants are managing roster expansions, with catcher Zach Morgan and pitcher Matt Wilkinson considered the likely candidates for the upcoming call-ups. Outfielder Bo Davidson will remain at Triple-A Sacramento for now, despite his 26-homer campaign across two levels.
