Giants release 15 players as NFL roster cutdown deadline approaches

The New York Giants are trimming their active roster to the mandatory 53-man limit before the league-wide deadline of 6 p.m. Sunday. The team released eight players Saturday following a 23-6 preseason victory over the New York Jets and announced seven additional roster moves throughout the day Sunday. Among those released Saturday were Isaiah Hodgins, Leki Fotu, and Ugo Amadi. Sunday transactions included the release of Brandon Allen, Lucas Patrick, and Zacch Pickens. The status of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. remains unconfirmed as the team finalizes its personnel decisions. The Giants are expected to complete all necessary roster adjustments by the Sunday evening cutoff.
