Giants sign rookie offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark to practice squad

The New York Giants announced a roster move on Wednesday, adding rookie offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark to their 17-player practice squad. To make room for the addition, the team released cornerback J.T. Woods. The signing follows several departures from the interior offensive line, including the trades of Daniel Faalele and Josh Ezeudu and the loss of Jake Kubas to the New England Patriots. VanDeMark, who played at Alabama and Michigan State, spent time with the Indianapolis Colts during the preseason, logging 80 snaps. He previously rated as a top high school offensive line prospect in New Jersey. The 6-foot-5, 326-pound lineman provides depth for a unit that experienced multiple changes during the roster cutdown process from 90 to 53 players.
