Gillian Zucker faces scrutiny in Los Angeles Clippers salary cap investigation

An investigation by the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz identified Gillian Zucker as a primary figure in attempts by the Los Angeles Clippers to circumvent NBA salary cap regulations. According to the report, Zucker allegedly helped facilitate outside endorsement deals between Kawhi Leonard and team partners, including Boingo Wireless and Daktronics, during the construction of the Intuit Dome. Investigators determined these arrangements served as a method to funnel additional financial benefits to Leonard. As a result, the NBA issued a $30 million fine and stripped the team of five future first-round draft picks. The league also suspended Zucker for one year without pay, citing her role in obstructing the investigation by providing inconsistent information to officials. The Los Angeles Clippers have denied the findings, labeling the report biased and stating intentions to contest the penalties.
