Gillingham midfielder Zech Obiero sidelined with dual hamstring injuries

Gillingham manager Gareth Ainsworth confirmed that on-loan midfielder Zech Obiero will miss the next one to two months after sustaining injuries to both hamstrings. The 21-year-old was injured 15 minutes into his debut during Gillingham’s 4-1 victory over Rochdale in League Two last Saturday. Obiero arrived on a season-long loan from Leyton Orient on transfer deadline day. His absence marks the third serious injury for Gillingham during the opening month of the campaign. The club previously lost captain Liam Gordon to a knee injury on the opening day and winger Kadeem Harris to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
