Giovanni Carnevali stabilizes Juventus finances despite rising wage costs

Giovanni Carnevali has restructured the Juventus squad since taking over as chief executive from Damien Comolli. The club completed a comprehensive squad overhaul that included the departures of Dušan Vlahović, Jonathan David, and Loïs Openda to facilitate the arrivals of Randal Kolo Muani, Guglielmo Vicario, and Jhon Lucumí. While these moves kept the team within UEFA Settlement Agreement boundaries, total wage and amortisation costs increased by 18.92 percent. University of Turin professor Fabrizio Bava noted that the financial impact of signing Kolo Muani largely negated the savings from player exits. Juventus faces a critical path to meet break-even requirements by 2028. To balance the books before the June 30, 2027 deadline, the club remains under pressure to secure at least one further major player sale.
