Girona remains hopeful for Brian Farinas despite Barcelona's decision delay

Summary

FC Barcelona continues to assess the future of 20-year-old midfielder Brian Farinas amid an injury to Frenkie de Jong. Initially close to a transfer to Girona, negotiations were paused after Hansi Flick sought to evaluate Farinas during pre-season training. Girona's sporting director Deco has been in discussions with Farinas’ agent regarding the best path forward for the player, who is under contract until 2028. The situation remains fluid as further evaluations are expected during Barcelona's training camp in England.
