Glenn Jacobs is considered a candidate for a United States senate seat

WWE Hall of Famer Glenn Jacobs, formerly known as Kane, is reportedly a candidate for a potential appointment to the United States Senate. U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn is currently running for governor of Tennessee, and should she win in November, she intends to appoint a successor to fill her vacated Senate seat until 2028. Jacobs, whose two-term tenure as mayor of Knox County concluded on September 1, 2026, is listed as one of three potential contenders for the seat. Other reported candidates include U.S. Representatives Tim Burchett and Chuck Fleischmann. While reports suggest these potential selections, Blackburn’s campaign has denied that a formal list of replacements has been created. Jacobs previously considered a run for governor himself before choosing to endorse Blackburn's current campaign.
