Glover Teixeira weighs in 10 pounds heavier than Shogun Rua at Spaten Fight Night 3

Former UFC champions Glover Teixeira and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua made weight Friday morning for their boxing match at Spaten Fight Night 3, and Teixeira will have a 10-pound advantage over his opponent. Teixeira stepped on the scale at 240 pounds, while Rua weighed 230 pounds, both under the 242-pound limit for Saturday’s boxing match in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Teixeira vs. Rua will have eight two-minute rounds. The biggest weight discrepancy, however, was for the judo match between Olympic gold medalist Bia Souza and her opponent Raz Hershko. In a rematch of the 2024 Olympic heavyweight final, Souza weighed 293 pounds, a whopping 33 pounds heavier than Hershko at 260. Spaten Fight Night 3 will also feature a boxing showdown between Luan Medeiros and Juan Cruz for the vacant WBA Fedelatin USA lightweight title, and both fighters successfully made weight.
