Goalkeeper Milo Beimers signs with Viterbese after 30-day van trip

Goalkeeper Milo Beimers has signed with the Italian fourth-tier club Viterbese following a 30-day journey across Europe in a transit van. The 18-year-old former Glentoran player undertook the 2,000-mile road trip alongside his father to secure a professional contract after leaving his previous club. Beimers participated in trials across Europe before securing a deal with the Serie D side, which plays in a city near Rome. The Canadian youth international made his debut for the team on Sunday, keeping a clean sheet in a 4-0 win over Anagni. As he adjusts to the Italian style of play, Beimers aims to help the club earn promotion to Serie C. He currently plans to continue learning the language to assist with his transition and integration into the squad.
