Golden State Warriors drafted one player from University of Rio Grande

The Golden State Warriors have historically utilized the NBA draft to build their roster, selecting players from a diverse range of collegiate programs. Records indicate that only one player from the University of Rio Grande has ever been selected by the franchise during the annual event. Forward Bevo Francis was chosen by the organization in the 1956 NBA Draft as the 24th overall pick. Despite being selected in the third round of that draft, Francis did not ultimately make the Warriors roster. The team has consistently relied on the draft as a primary method for acquiring talent, frequently adding players who move directly into the professional system.
