Golden State Warriors drafted two basketball players from Akron

The Golden State Warriors have selected two players from the University of Akron in the history of the NBA draft. Joe Wahl was the first player taken by the franchise, selected in the 1948 BAA Draft during the 8th round. He did not make the final team roster. The second selection was Bill Turner, a forward taken in the 3rd round of the 1967 NBA Draft. Turner played for the Warriors for five seasons. The team has utilized the draft as a primary method for building its roster over the years, incorporating talent from various college programs ranging from blue blood institutions to smaller schools.
