Botafogo disputes the findings regarding Matheus Martins, asserting that the forward had been playing regularly without restrictions. The Brazilian club has offered its own medical records for review and is considering legal action against the Russian team due to the use of the player's image in promotional materials. Gonzalo Plata was expected to join on a 10 million euro transfer, while the deal for Matheus Martins was valued at 7 million euros. Flamengo confirmed the departure of other players to manage its squad replacements following the collapse of the transfer.
