Goodyear is increasing the tire allotment for the NASCAR Cup Series at Darlington Raceway for the opening race of the Chase. Teams will receive 15 total sets of tires for the Cook Out Southern 500, an increase of two sets compared to the March race at the same venue. The decision aims to address the abrasive surface and unique configuration of the 1.366-mile track during the longer race distance. Separately, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will utilize a new right-side tire setup for the Fleetio 200 scheduled for Saturday. The Cup Series event follows on Sunday, marking the start of the Chase for both series at the South Carolina track.
