Gopher volleyball remains unbeaten, soccer suffers narrow loss

The Minnesota Gophers volleyball team improved to 2-0 this season with two 3-0 victories at the Diet Coke Classic, defeating Miami and St. Thomas. Kelly Kinney and McKenna Wucherer starred for the Gophers, with Wucherer recording 18 kills against St. Thomas. Conversely, Gopher soccer faced a setback against Penn State, losing 1-0 after a goal by Aubrey Kulpa in the 34th minute. Goalkeeper Sarah Martin made seven saves in that match and was recognized as the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week. Minnesota will return to action in both sports this weekend, with volleyball set to face South Dakota and South Dakota State, and soccer hosting Northwestern.
