Gophers basketball secures commitment from top 100 recruit Isaiah Santos

BasketballThe Gophers men’s basketball team has received a verbal commitment from four-star wing Isaiah Santos on July 28, 2026. The 6-foot-7 small forward from Katy, Texas, visited Minnesota recently, after also checking out Colorado, Butler, and Texas Tech this summer. Santos, ranked as the 78th overall player in the nation by 247 Sports, also held offers from Houston, Illinois, and Vanderbilt. He becomes the first commitment for Minnesota's 2027 recruiting class, as the program may only sign one or two high school freshmen due to upcoming NCAA rules regarding player eligibility. Santos expressed his excitement for this new chapter on social media.
