Gotham FC defeats Racing Louisville while other NWSL matches end in draws

Gotham FC snapped a three-game winless streak Friday with a 2-1 victory over Racing Louisville. Guro Reiten scored in the eighth minute before Kayla Fischer equalized for Louisville in the 17th. Jaedyn Shaw provided the eventual game-winner for Gotham less than a minute into the second half. Elsewhere in the National Women’s Soccer League, the Kansas City Current and Orlando Pride played to a 2-2 draw. Barbra Banda recorded two goals for Orlando, but Temwa Chawinga and Elizabeth Ball rallied for Kansas City to secure a point. Additionally, Angel City FC and the Denver Summit finished in a 3-3 tie after an intense back-and-forth contest in Los Angeles. The results impact the middle and lower tiers of the league table as the regular season progresses.
