Graham Pauley drives in four runs as Miami Marlins defeat Kansas City Royals

Graham Pauley recorded a home run and a triple to drive in four runs, leading the Miami Marlins to a 6-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night in Kansas City. Tyler Phillips earned the win, throwing five innings of one-hit ball while striking out four batters. Kyle Stowers also hit a home run for the Marlins, who extended their lead during a seventh-inning rally. The Royals attempted a comeback in the eighth inning behind an RBI double from Carter Jensen and a sacrifice fly by Bobby Witt Jr., but were unable to close the gap. Royals manager Matt Quatraro was ejected during the eighth after a disputed balk call was reversed by umpires. The Marlins remain three games behind the San Diego Padres in the National League wild card race. Miami continues its series against the Royals on Wednesday with Eury Pérez scheduled to start.
