Great Britain and Ireland host United States for Walker Cup at Lahinch

The 51st Walker Cup begins on September 5 at Lahinch Golf Club in County Clare, Ireland. Great Britain and Ireland will compete against the United States in a biennial match play event consisting of 26 matches over two days. The United States enters the competition seeking to extend a winning streak that spans the last five editions, while the home side looks for its first victory since 2015. Each team features 10 players, including recent US Amateur winner Jack Whaley for Great Britain and Ireland and McCormack Medal winner Preston Stout for the United States. Lahinch Golf Club, often referred to as the St Andrews of Ireland, hosts the event for the first time on its historic links course.
