The Green Bay Packers released long snapper Cal Adomitis on August 30, 2026, ahead of the league's roster cut deadline. Adomitis was signed earlier this summer while veteran long snapper Matt Orzech remained on the active/PUP list due to a calf injury. During his time with the team, Adomitis established a strong operational rapport with kicker Trey Smack, who successfully converted all 16 of his field goal and extra point attempts throughout the camp. The organization intends to activate Orzech from the PUP list, making him available for the Week 1 regular season opener. This change comes despite reports that Smack experienced kicking struggles during the spring season when Orzech served as the primary long snapper. The coaching staff now looks to reintegrate the veteran into the special teams unit.
