Gretchen Walsh nearly breaks record; Caeleb Dressel wins at nationals

Gretchen Walsh won the U.S. title in the 50m freestyle with a time of 23.60 seconds, just shy of her world record. The event took place in Irvine, California, as part of the ongoing swimming nationals. Caeleb Dressel secured his second victory of the meet, clocking 21.35 seconds in the men's 50m free, marking his best time in four years. Dressel previously claimed victory in the 100m free earlier this week. Both athletes prepare for the Pan Pacific Championships set for August 12-15, also in Irvine.
