Guardians linked to Astros' Jeremy Pena trade possibility ahead of deadline

The Cleveland Guardians are being linked to a potential trade for Houston Astros infielder Jeremy Pena as the trade deadline approaches. CBS Sports' Mike Axisa noted that while the Guardians are positioned as buyers, due to budget constraints, their pursuit of top available names may be limited. Pena, a 28-year-old All-Star and World Series MVP with a career 19.6 bWAR, is highlighted as a major target. However, the Guardians' current shortstop Bryan Rocchio is performing well, leading to speculation that acquiring Pena might not be essential. The Astros are expected to consider trades of various players, potentially including Pena, as sellers this summer.
