Guardians recall Daniel Schneemann and Carlos Hernandez for roster expansion

The Cleveland Guardians recalled utility man Daniel Schneemann and relief pitcher Carlos Hernandez on September 1 as MLB rosters expanded to 28 players. The team utilized an open spot on its 40-man roster created by the August designation of Gabriel Arias for assignment. Schneemann, who was optioned to the minors in late July, returns to the club with a.206 batting average, six home runs, and 28 RBIs. Hernandez, who has yet to appear in a Major League game this season, has spent the year recovering from an offseason car accident. He recorded a 5.40 ERA across 12 minor league appearances at Triple-A Columbus. The right-hander previously pitched for the Cleveland Guardians, Detroit Tigers, and Philadelphia Phillies in 2025.
