Guardians struggle in loss to Twins after poor pitching

The Cleveland Guardians played the Minnesota Twins on July 5, 2026, suffering another defeat marked by poor defense and pitching. The Guardians took a temporary lead in the fourth inning with back-to-back homers from Rocchio and Hoskins, but their pitching faltered soon after. Key relievers struggled, with Sabrowski facing significant challenges, issuing three walks that contributed to the loss. Despite a resilient performance by Cade Smith, the Guardians could not capitalize offensively and let the game slip away, culminating in a walk-off hit by Alan Roden in the ninth inning.
