Guardians target Spencer Steer in potential trade discussions

The Cleveland Guardians are reportedly interested in acquiring Spencer Steer from the Cincinnati Reds ahead of the trade deadline. Steer is a 28-year-old right-handed first baseman/outfielder/DH, under team control through 2028. The Guardians seek a right-handed slugger to improve their lineup, particularly against left-handed pitching. As the Reds struggle at 8 games under.500, trading Steer could aid in their rebuilding process. Discussions surrounding trades are expected to ramp up as the deadline approaches.
