Guernsey and Jersey support Gotland hosting 2031 Island Games

Guernsey and Jersey welcomed the announcement that Gotland will host the 2031 Island Games, scheduled from June 28 to July 4. This will mark the third time the Swedish island hosts the event, with popular team sports including football, basketball, and volleyball on the agenda. Jersey's Island Games Association chairman Steve Jacobs expressed confidence in Gotland's organizational capabilities, recalling successful previous events there. Additionally, shooting will return to the program in 2031 after being absent for eight years, which Guernsey shooter Nikki Trebert anticipates will benefit competitors from both islands. Both island associations expect a well-run event similar to past Games held in Gotland.
