Guernsey sisters Delphine and Elodie Riley compete at Commonwealth Games

At the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, sisters Delphine and Elodie Riley faced off in the heats of the 400m freestyle. Delphine, 19, finished fifth in her heat with a time of 2:11.01, while 17-year-old Elodie placed seventh, 0.67 seconds behind her sister. Despite their finishes, both swimmers expressed excitement about competing together on an international stage for the first time. They also swam in the 200m freestyle heats earlier and will participate in the 800m freestyle next week. Guernsey's mixed 4x100m freestyle relay team set a new island record but finished last in their heat. Bowls competitors Alison Merrien and Rose Ogier remained unbeaten after three matches, winning both sets against Zambia 10-0 and 8-0.
