Chelsea Green put Gunther in his place on SmackDown. | (Photo: WWE) Of all the possible matches I could be excited for, a showdown between Interim Women’s Champion Chelsea Green and Gunther was not on my bingo card. But after Green and Gunther traded verbal jabs on Friday’s SmackDown, I already have Gunther at the front of the line for a crack at women’s glory. What a sad sight that was. Green, pleading for the Big Rubber Guy to get up, all while “The Ring General” took him on a first-class tour of Powerbomb Plaza. Hell, if Green hadn’t distracted Gunther, giving Cardona a glimmer of hope, their impromptu match would have been a squash. To hear Cardona tell it on social media, the ass-kicking woke him up. He says he’s far from finished and still focused on winning the Undisputed WWE Championship. Good luck with that. As for Gunther, he’s struggled to win the big one in recent months. Since May, he’s lost four high-profile matches for the Undisputed WWE Championship. A bout with Chelsea could be his best shot at winning a world title this year, interim or otherwise. Despite Green showing up in a skirt, it’s clear she wears the pants in her family. She didn’t back down from Gunther one bit. While I’m certain that such a “contest” would be the ultimate mismatch, my money’s on Green giving Gunther a run for his money, at least at the start. She sure can’t do any worse than her hubby. Woo, woo, woo — you and I know it.
