Haleigh Washington visits Compton Early College High School volleyball team

Two-time Olympic medalist Haleigh Washington surprised the Compton Early College High School volleyball team during practice on Wednesday. Washington, who plays for LOVB Los Angeles, participated in drills and shared her experiences with the student-athletes while showing them her medals. The visit was arranged by the nonprofit organization Saving Our Daughters, which co-founded the initiative alongside Keke Palmer to provide career development and mentorship to students in Compton. This event marks the launch of new professional volleyball programming through a partnership with the Compton Unified School District. The program aims to expose students to professional paths in sports and other fields. As the high school season begins, athletes stated the interaction provided new perspectives on their potential professional careers.
