Hamburger SV pursues Zakaria El Ouahdi amid alternative interest in Arthur

Hamburger SV is intensifying its pursuit of KRC Genk right-back Zakaria El Ouahdi, according to reports on August 29, 2026. The club’s sporting director Claus Costa is looking to fill a key gap in the squad before the transfer deadline. Although a basic agreement has been reached with El Ouahdi, HSV's previous offers to Genk have not been successful, prompting a planned third bid. Alternative option Arthur from Bayer Leverkusen remains in consideration as a less expensive, short-term solution. Simultaneously, Hamburg is negotiating to re-sign Fabio Vieira from Arsenal, complicating their financial plans.
