Hamilton hires new baseball and softball coaches for upcoming season

Hamilton High School has appointed Derek Thomas as the new head coach for the softball program, taking over from Steve Heckman, who retired after 34 seasons. Thomas previously served as an assistant coach and is praised for his dedication and player development initiatives. Curtus Moak has been named the head coach for the baseball team, previously led by Josh Sams. Moak, a 1998 graduate and member of the 1997 state championship team, has a background in professional baseball, having played in the Reds’ minor league system. Hamilton's softball team finished this past season with a record of 16-10, while the baseball team struggled with a 10-17 record. Both coaches are expected to emphasize community connections and player development moving forward.
