Hanover seeks donations for former forward Kreso Kovacec in coma

Hanover, a club in Germany’s second division, has launched a fundraising campaign for ex-forward Kreso Kovacec, who is currently in a coma. The 56-year-old underwent emergency surgery for a sudden aortic rupture, which resulted in complications including a stroke and a brain hemorrhage. Kovacec, a father of two, played for Hanover from 1995 to 1997, tallying 42 goals in 79 matches. The club has posted a link to the fundraising effort on its website, initiated by a longstanding friend of Kovacec.
