Hansi Flick surpasses Johan Cruyff in record as La Liga leader

FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved past Johan Cruyff in a specific coaching benchmark at the start of the 2026/2027 season. Flick reached the milestone of 60 games as a La Liga leader in only 80 matches, a feat that took the late Johan Cruyff 300 games to accomplish in the 1990s. The current Barcelona side has opened the campaign with four consecutive league victories and a 5-1 win against Feyenoord in the Champions League. Flick continues to implement an aggressive playing style that honors the tactical foundations established by Johan Cruyff during his tenure at the club. The team maintains this momentum following a 5-0 victory over Valencia at the Mestalla this past Sunday. FC Barcelona prepares for its next league fixture against Levante, which is scheduled to take place this coming Sunday at 16:15 local time.
