Harry Kane faces backlash after golf outing with Donald Trump

Summary

England captain Harry Kane has drawn criticism for revealing he played golf with Donald Trump about 18 months ago. Speaking ahead of England's World Cup semifinal against Argentina, Kane described the experience as surreal and praised Trump’s golf skills. The comments have provoked a wave of backlash on social media, with some fans expressing disappointment in Kane for associating with the former president. Kane's remarks come as England look to advance in the World Cup following a 2-1 victory over Norway in the quarterfinals. If successful against Argentina, they could face either Spain or France in the final.
