Harry Kane misses World Cup final, impacts Ballon d’Or hopes
Summary

Harry Kane's pursuit of the Ballon d'Or is significantly hindered after England's exit in the World Cup semi-finals against Argentina on July 15, 2026. Despite having an exceptional scoring season at Bayern Munich, Kane's lack of World Cup success nullifies his chances for the prestigious award this year. Historically, top performances in the World Cup are crucial for Ballon d'Or contention, making Kane's elimination detrimental. If Bayern Munich clinches the UEFA Champions League title, there remains a sliver of hope for his candidacy in the future, depending on other outcomes.
