Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame inducts four for significant achievements

BasketballThe Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame held its annual banquet on August 12 at the Honolulu Country Club, honoring four distinguished individuals. Darren Ho, the first skateboarder selected for the Hall, is recognized for his achievements, including induction into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in 2025. Surfer Kelia Moniz was honored for her back-to-back wins at the Association of Surfing Professionals Women’s Longboard Championships in 2012 and 2013. Beth McLachlin, a former USA Olympic Women’s Volleyball Team player, was acknowledged for her longstanding contributions to education and athletics. Tony Sellitto was recognized as the only basketball coach in Hawaii state history to win both a high school state championship and a college national title.
