Track & FieldPenn State senior Hayley Kitching has been named the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Region women's track athlete of the year. Kitching's standout outdoor season included breaking the program record in the 1500 meters at the Virginia Challenge with a time of 4:05.81. She contributed to record-breaking performances in both the sprint medley relay and 3200 relay at the Penn Relays. Kitching also captured the Big Ten outdoor title in the 800 meters and advanced to the NCAA outdoor national championship meet. She finished runner-up in the NCAA 800 final with a time of 1:57.65, marking the second-fastest in NCAA history.
