Heritage and Clinton combine for 105 points in season opener

Heritage High School defeated Clinton High School 63-42 on August 22, 2026. The game took place at Jack Renfro Stadium and featured two former Tennessee football assistants, Joe Osovet of Heritage and Jake Dawson of Clinton. Heritage quarterback Walker Wheeler excelled, completing 12-of-14 passes for 228 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 119 yards. Clinton quarterback Mason Eckerson contributed significantly with 305 passing yards and five total touchdowns. Both teams will seek to build momentum from this high-scoring contest in their upcoming games.
