High school flag football and volleyball events highlight Saturday sports schedule

Saturday features a series of events across Southern California dedicated to girls' and women's sports. MaxPreps hosts an 18-team flag football tournament in San Diego, featuring top-ranked JSerra. In the evening, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame hosts Harvard-Westlake for a girls' volleyball match on a custom outdoor court constructed on the Notre Dame baseball field. Additionally, the 39th annual Venice Invitational Tournament for girls' volleyball begins Friday across three sites, including Venice, Le Lycée, and University high schools. The Woodbridge Classic cross-country meet also takes place in Irvine at the Great Park. These events represent a collection of athletic competitions occurring throughout the weekend for high school participants.
