Highland QB Lacie Nemchick earns Nebraska offer, first in Arizona

Lacie Nemchick, a junior quarterback for Gilbert Highland's flag football team, has received a scholarship offer from the University of Nebraska, marking her as the first player from Arizona to earn such an offer from a Power Four school. Flag football gained sanctioning from the Arizona Interscholastic Association in 2023. Nebraska became the first Power Four institution to establish a varsity flag football program. Highland coach Kenny Golladay highlighted the significance of this offer for female athletes in Arizona. Nemchick previously had a standout season with Queen Creek Casteel and aims to lead Highland to the 6A state championship this season.
