Hodgkinson sets British record but finishes second in Stockholm 800m

Keely Hodgkinson ran her fastest-ever 800m time at the Diamond League in Stockholm on June 7, finishing second to Audrey Werro. Hodgkinson clocked a British record time of 1:54.33, but it was not enough to secure victory as Werro achieved a historic time of 1:53.98, the third-fastest women's 800m ever. After a seventh-place finish in the 400m in Rome, Hodgkinson expressed respect for Werro's performance and noted her own desire to improve. In other events, pole vault champion Armand Duplantis suffered his first loss in 40 competitions. The meet featured other personal bests, including Amy Hunt finishing second in the 200m.
