Horizon Christian becomes provisional IHSAA member in 2026

Horizon Christian has received provisional membership in the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA), effective for the 2026-2027 season. The school submitted its application in May and was approved in August, aiming to enhance opportunities for student-athletes. Athletic director Nick Dunkelbarger stated that the decision aligns with the school's goal to provide a broader platform for its students, who had previously competed under the Indiana Association of Christian Schools. Horizon Christian plans to continue its tradition of including homeschooled athletes in its programs as part of IHSAA participation. Over the next three years, the school will transition to full membership while continuing to compete in the ICSAA as well. They will also host future competitions including the Indiana Christian & Home School State Cross Country Championship on October 10.
