Hornets weighing trade options for Moussa Diabaté after breakout season

The Charlotte Hornets are evaluating their roster options, potentially including a trade for center Moussa Diabaté following his career year. Diabaté averaged 7.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in the 2025-26 season, and with the arrival of rookie big Hannes Steinbach and the continued development of Ryan Kalkbrenner, his role could be diminished. The Hornets have been active this offseason, trading LaMelo Ball to the Timberwolves and are now focused on building around young stars Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller. Moving Diabaté could yield valuable draft assets as the Hornets look to further retool their team.
