Houston Christian pitcher Remy Marsh sues NCAA for fifth eligibility season

Remy Marsh, a pitcher at Houston Christian University, has filed a lawsuit against the NCAA seeking a fifth season of college baseball eligibility. The NCAA recently implemented a new eligibility model allowing Division I and II athletes to play for five seasons, but it excluded those like Marsh who completed their eligibility by spring 2026. Marsh argues that the change discriminates against athletes who graduated high school in 2022 and did not redshirt. A federal judge in Colorado had earlier ruled in favor of a similar case, but that decision was temporarily blocked by a federal appeals court. Marsh's lawsuit was filed in Harris County, where a decision on an injunction allowing him to play is expected in October.
