Houston defeats Southern 77-6 for most lopsided win since 1989

The No. 22 Houston Cougars defeated Southern 77-6 at TDECU Stadium on Saturday. Houston scored touchdowns on all 11 of its possessions, marking the program's largest margin of victory since a 95-21 win over SMU in 1989. Quarterback Conner Weigman threw for 120 yards and three touchdowns before exiting in the second quarter. Keisean Henderson added two touchdown passes and a 54-yard rushing score, while John Hebert recorded two touchdowns. Southern, which managed 121 yards of total offense, scored its only points on a 79-yard catch by Wydell Clark Jr. The two teams agreed to an eight-minute fourth quarter as the Cougars improved to 2-0. Houston next plays at Texas Tech on Friday for its first Big 12 conference game of the season.
